Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Nathan Smith is a board-certified pediatric dental specialist and the founder of Smart Pediatric Dentistry. He grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho where he was the 8th child of 13. He obtained his dental degree from The Ohio State University’s College of Dentistry where he graduated in the top of his class, Magna Cum Laude. Upon graduation, Dr. Smith moved his family to Colorado to complete his two-year specialty training in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Smith started Smart Pediatric Dentistry in 2004 which has grown to become the premier pediatric dental group in Utah County. His dedication to children's health and kind demeanor helps all his patients feel comfortable at the office. Dr. Smith also speaks fluent Spanish.

Growing up in Idaho gave Dr. Smith a great love for the outdoors. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, biking, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Tiffany and their five children.

Dr. David Macdonald is a board-certified pediatric dental specialist. He grew up in Redmond, Washington and is the youngest of five children. He attended BYU and completed a bachelor’s degree in Music, with an emphasis on the Organ. From there he and his young family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he attended the world’s first dental school. Dr. Macdonald enjoyed working with children so much that he decided to pursue a two-year specialty degree in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Macdonald is fluent in Spanish and loves working with children of all ages.

Dr. Macdonald joined Smart Pediatric Dentistry in 2010. He enjoys living in Utah, being close to family, friends, and our beautiful mountains. When he’s not working, you will find him with his wonderful wife and eight amazing kids looking for outdoor adventures like motorcycling, soccer, biking, hiking, skiing, or playing touch football with almost a full family team.

Dr. Ryan Blankenship is a board-certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. He was born in Provo but was raised in the South. He returned to Provo where he met his wife in the anatomy lab. They then headed back to Alabama where he attended dental school and graduated with honors. Following dental school, he completed his two-year specialty training in Colorado. He also received advanced training in laser dentistry.

“Dr. Ryan” joined Smart Pediatric Dentistry in 2013. His fun personality and southern charm mix well to create an environment that children and parents will remember and appreciate. Dr. Ryan and his team are dedicated and fully invested in the care of his patients. He continues to stay current with all the recent literature as well as play an active role in local study clubs and organized dentistry.

In his spare time Dr. Ryan enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife Tammy of over 10 years, and their four beautiful children, Jacob, Addi, Maisy and Cedar. They love to cook and entertain friends and family, in fact, Dr. Ryan is a professional sushi chef. Second to the love for his family is the love of rock climbing. Many weekends and lunch hours are spent either at the climbing gym or in some far-off canyon.

Dr. Justin Fillmore is a board-certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. He was raised in Richfield Utah where he spent a lot of time with his father and grandpa working on the farm. He decided he wanted a change of scenery, so after he graduated BYU, he moved to Los Angeles for dental school. While in California he met his beautiful wife, Lauren. They got married 6 months after he finished dental school during his two-year residency in the Pacific Northwest.

Dr. Fillmore joined Smart Pediatric Dentistry in 2012. His patience and good sense of humor allow him to create a great relationship with patients and parents allowing them to feel safe and comfortable while at the dentist. He loves his job and always strives for perfection.

Over the years Dr. Fillmore has developed many different hobbies which include but are not limited to surfing, fly fishing, art/drawing, traveling, snowboarding and camping. Anything outside! Most importantly he loves to spend time with his wife and two beautiful children as well as their dog Ollie.

Dr. Spencer Archibald is a board-certified pediatric dental specialist. He was born and raised in Southeast Idaho, the 6th of 8 boys in his family. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree at Idaho State University, he attended dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he graduated with honors. Following dental school, Dr. Archibald completed a two-year Pediatric Dental specialty program at the Stony Brook University Medical Center in New York. Dr. Archibald also speaks fluent Spanish.

Dr. Archibald practiced pediatric dentistry in Arizona for 8 years before joining Smart Pediatric Dentistry in 2017. He loves working with children, and strives to make visits relaxed, fun, and comfortable for every child. With 4 boys and 1 girl, he is well-versed in all thing's sports, Star Wars, My Little Pony, and Legos.

In his spare time, Dr. Archibald loves spending time with his wonderful wife and their 5 children. They love being close to family here in Utah. Dr. Archibald also enjoys golf, fishing, basketball, and working on projects around the home.

Dr. Chad Gollaher is a board-certified pediatric dentist. He was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. He is the third of five children. He attended Utah Valley University during which he met his wife, Ashley. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. From there he attended Dental School at Roseman University of Health Sciences in South Jordan, Utah. Four kids later, Dr. Gollaher graduated and moved his family to Detroit, Michigan where he completed his two-year specialty training in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Gollaher joined Smart Pediatric Dentistry in 2018. He enjoys working with children and strives to create a trusting relationship with all his patients and their parents. His fun personality makes each visit to the dentist welcoming and enjoyable.

In his free time, Dr. Gollaher enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their four children, Kate, Emery, Crew, and Harper. They love being outdoors and enjoying the mountains. His other hobbies include historical geography, weight training, reading and learning new skills.

Dr. Amber Clark is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She grew up in Nevada as the oldest of three children. For college she moved to the University of Utah, where she met her husband. After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, she attended dental school at the University of Utah as part of their inaugural class. Following dental school, Dr. Amber adventured to the east coast, where she completed a general practice residency in NYC. A year later, she and her husband moved back west, where she completed her two-year specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Dr. Amber loves working with children of all ages and getting to know her patients. Her goal is to provide a positive, fun, and welcoming dental experience. She is passionate about preventive education and laying a strong foundation for long-term oral health.

Dr. Scott Bower is a board-certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Bower was born and raised in Utah and has always loved living here. While attending the University of Utah, Dr. Bower developed a love for college football. After earning a medical biology degree at the U, he decided to attend dental school at the University of Iowa where he could continue to enjoy college football and live near his extended family. While rotating through all the dental specialties during dental school, Dr. Bower quickly realized that pediatric dentistry was the most fulfilling part of school he had experienced. As a result he chose to specialize in pediatric dentistry and trained at the pediatric dental residency program at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

Dr. Bower very much enjoys being a pediatric dentist. Previous to joining Smart Pediatric Dentistry in July of 2021, he had been serving and treating the children of southern Utah County for 9 years. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Spanish Fork office and will continue to do his best to provide amazing and comfortable dental care and a fun experience for the children and their parents.

When he isn’t working he enjoys spending time with his family. Every fall he can’t get enough college football. He looks forward to skiing with his family every winter. And one of his favorite hobbies is finding, collecting, and listening to new music.

Dr. Austin Tidwell is a board-certified pediatric dentist. He grew up in American Fork, Utah. He went to the University of Utah and completed his bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science. Dr. Tidwell and his wife moved to Glendale, Arizona for dental school at Midwestern University. Following dental school, he and his family moved to Las Vegas, where he completed his two-year specialty training in pediatric dentistry at University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Dr. Tidwell enjoys getting to know each child and their family to create a fun, enjoyable, and comfortable experience at the dental office. He likes to educate children and parents about the importance of oral health and ways to create positive dental habits at home.

In his free time, Dr. Tidwell enjoys hiking, pickleball, wake surfing, snowboarding, biking, video games, and watching sports. He loves spending time with his wife and kids and is excited to be back in Utah to raise his family in the area where he grew up.
